What is CEREC?
Cerec

CEREC is a machine dentists use to manufacture tooth restorations, like crowns (caps) and veneers.

It's an acronym which stands for Chairside, Economical Restorations of Esthetic Ceramic.

Chairside means the dentist can provide the treatment (crown, veneer, etc) in one patient visit and Ceramic refers to the final product - a non-metallic restoration which is bonded to the existing or remaining tooth structure. As such, CEREC restorations are extremely durable and natural looking.

CEREC 3D

Using the most advanced technology in tooth restoration, the Sirona CEREC 3D CAD-CAM computer can fabricate porcelain (metal free) inlays, onlays and crowns in one treatment appointment, in most cases.

This technology produces conservative, durable and esthetic restorations in one to two hours in a single appointment. After the inlay is fabricated, it is bonded into the tooth creating a final restoration that almost attains the strength of the natural tooth, according to research studies.
